Connect2 Tower Hamlets is a walking and cycling route that will link Bethnal Green tube station with Victoria Park.

Portrait Bench Opening Ceremony, Monday 15th August 2011, 2pm, Meath Bridge

Tottenham and England footballer Ledley King will be there from 3pm, alongside representatives from the Sylvia Pankhurst Trust and British Waterways.

Sustrans’ Connect2 is revitalising walking and cycling in 79 communities across the UK by creating new routes for the local journeys we all make every day. Connect2 is making it possible for you to travel to the shops, school, work, the park or to see family and friends under your own stream, benefiting both your health and our environment. The map below shows the Connect2 route in red with various annotations, the key to which is beneath the map. Please click on an icon or a line to see the annotation. You can also use the zoom and direction buttons in the top left-hand corner and drag the map around using the right-click of your mouse. Is it just me or does this map show the Museaum of Childhood in the wrong location?! Where does this route actually end?
